Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I use Cartennas without a subscription?
Yes. The Flex plan is entirely pay-as-you-go with no monthly fees or commitments. It is built specifically for single-location and multi-location businesses that need on-demand onsite IT support or projects without committing to a monthly plan.
2. What does “rates starting at $110/hour” mean for Flex?
The final hourly rate for your request depends on the location, service type, service window, and technician qualifications. You receive the applicable hourly rate for approval before a technician is dispatched.
3. Are materials or hardware parts included in the hourly rate?
No. The hourly rate covers technical field labor and standard diagnostic tools. Any materials used, patch cables, or replacement hardware components are quoted and billed as separate line items on the work order.
4. Do I approve the rate before a technician is dispatched?
Yes. Under the Flex plan, you receive the hourly rate for the requested service type and location before dispatch. A technician is not dispatched until you approve that rate.
5. When does Core make more sense than Flex?
The Core plan is ideal if your business has predictable, recurring onsite IT support needs each month. It provides a set block of hours at a preferred rate, a single uniform rate nationwide, and a consistent rate regardless of the service type.
6. What Core monthly blocks are available?
The Core plan is structured in fixed monthly blocks of 10, 20, or 40 hours. Depending on the block you select for your business, hourly rates are as low as $95/hour.
7. Does Core pricing change by location or service type?
No. The Core plan features a single locked-in rate nationwide that remains the same regardless of service type. This removes the guesswork when managing onsite IT support across different regional locations and varying workloads.
8. When should I choose Advantage?
This plan is for businesses managing multi-location operations that require custom contract pricing. It provides your team with custom SLAs, centralized work order management, and consistent field support across all your locations.
9. Can projects be priced separately?
Yes. Onsite IT projects can be estimated on a fixed-price basis rather than using hourly Flex rates or drawing from your monthly Core blocks. Total project cost is determined by the specific scope, location, timeline, and required technician skill set.
10. Are same-day and next-day dispatch options available?
Yes. We offer both same-day and next-day dispatch options. Exact availability depends on the specific location, dispatch timing, scope of work, and local technician availability.
11. What can I manage in the Cartennas Portal?
You can use the portal to submit new requests, track active work orders, and pay invoices. The system also stores your work order documentation, historic location documentation like site photos or rack layouts, and all final deliverables such as closeout sign-off sheets.
